Choosing your Domain Name

It is most important that your domain name (name of your web-site) should represent the image of your business.
It should indicate clearly the nature of your services or products.

Ideally it should be :
 •  Short
 •  Easy to remember
 •  Easy to spell

You may choose the following GTLD :
 •  .com
 •  .biz  [1]
 •  .name
 •  .org
 •  .net
 •  .info
 •  .eu
[1]  .biz is restricted to business use only.

Or you may choose a ccTLD :
 •  .co.uk
 •  .org.uk

check if your chosen name is available

Your chosen domain name is registered and included in your web-package for a period of 1 year (ccTLD names are for 2 years). All GTLD names can be registered for up to 10 years at a time.

There is no legal guarantee that anyone can keep the name they register. There have been some disputes recently with registrars and industry giants about who has rights to legal ownership.

For more information about domain names and disputes visit the  Nominet and ICANN and InterNIC web-sites.
